John Whitaker in Hospital

Stockholm, 4 December 2000   
John Whitaker is in hospital in Sweden after suffering a suspected brain haemorrhage.  He was in Stockholm for a showjumping competition with his wife Claire when he collapsed.  It is believed that he underwent emergency surgery when he was rushed into hospital last Friday and was in a very serious condition.

John had been due to appear at the Stockholm show alongside his two older children, Robert and Louise.  He is currently ranked 13th in the FEI/BCM World Riders Rankings.
