First 2014 USEF Developing Driver Clinic Set to Begin
The first clinic of the 2014 Developing Driver Program (DDP) will take place at the Grand Oaks in Weirsdale, Fla., February 28 - March 2, 2014. Thorsten Zarembowicz of Germany, 2010 Singles World Champion and eighth-place finisher at the 2013 Pair World Championships, will teach the clinic. Participants will hone their skills in the dressage, marathon, and cones phases throughout the three-day clinic.
The following drivers have been selected to participate in the clinic:
Catherine Boiler (Cherry Hill, N.J.)
Margaret Cox (Providence, R.I.)
Craig Grange (Morriston, Fla.)
Joni Kuhn (Argyle, Texas)
Doris Leacy (Oro Valley, Ariz.)
Max Montoya (Hebron, Ky.)
Colten Parker (Batavia, Ohio)
Heather Schneider (Palm City, Fla.)
Debra Sparks (Wellington, Fla.)
As there are limited training opportunities for driving at the USEF/FEI levels, the opportunity to train with an International driver and coach was overwhelmingly positive. The USEF implemented the 2014 Developing Driver Program (DDP) to provide clinic opportunities to up-and-coming drivers with aspirations to compete at the Intermediate and Advanced levels.
