Lipica: Double victory for Cividini
The final day of the three-star driving event at the Lipica Stud Farm in Slovenia was concluded successfully with the cones competition in the main arena. The temperatures were higher than the previous days, but all horses were fit.Cristiano Cividini was the only competitor in the pony singles class to drive a double clear round in the fair, but challenging cones course, designed by Gábor Fintha. Cividini won this class with the Haflinger pony Aron L, with which he will be competing at the European Haflinger Championships in Milano. It depends on the owner of the pony if ‘Titi’ will represent Italy at the FEI World Pony Driving Championships in Breda at the start of September. The strong performing Cédric Scherrer finished second, ahead of Luca Cassottana.
Cividini was very successful as well with Amanno in the horse singles class. The experienced driver has had the 10-year-old since October 2012 when it came to his stables as on his way to the slaughter house. After testing Amanno for several months, they clicked and have been successful ever since.
Vilmos Jámbor jr. won the pony four-in-hand class, while his compatriot David Pálkovics came second and Marco Perinotto finished third. Jámbor will next week compete with different ponies at the CAIO in Minden, Germany.
József Dobrovitz jr. won the horse pairs class with his Dutch warm blood horses and one Lipizzaner horse, which he used for marathon and cones. Dobrovitz is preparing to represent Hungary at the World Pair Driving Championships in Fábiánsebestyén in September. World Champion Vilmos Lázár, who will defend his title in Fabiansebestyen, finished on the second place, ahead of Austrian driver Gerald Rössler.
Zoltán Lázár won the horse teams class with a big advantage to Attila Bardos, Kristof Osztertag and Carlo Mascheroni. The youngest of the Lázár brothers will also be present in Fabiansebestyen.
