Haras du Pin: The winners
The beautiful site of the National Stud Farm Le Pin au Haras in France hosted a very well organised two-and three-star combined driving event last weekend. The organisation did everything they could to meet the needs of horses and drivers and anticipated correctly to the very warm weather.Anne Violaine Brisou won the three-star horse singles class, ahead of marathon winner Frans Hellegers from the Netherlands, who started for the last time on international level with his 21-year-old Donnerstolz.
The pony classes were dominated by the Belgian drivers. Sven Tinlot won the single pony class, followed by French drivers Laetitia Maricourt and Benoit Vernay.
Wenny Vanhee put down the best performance in the pony pairs class, in which Dutch drivers Dirk Neerincx and Woutera van de Kamp finished second and third.
The three Belgian competitors in the pony teams class battled it out for the highest placing, which was won by Jeroen De Schutter. Nicolas Deudon finished second and Denis Billet third.
The two-star single horse class was won by French driver Benoit Vernay, while Raphael Berrard won the horse pairs class, ahead of Bernard Pouvreau and Dutchman Rob van den Heuvel who lost his first place after the cones.
