American sponsor for Theo Timmerman

Dutch driver Theo Timmerman has a new sponsor. The American couple Patsy and Seth Wooten will strongly support the successful four-in-hand driver until after the FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky 2010.

The North Carolina based Wootens will support the 45-year-old professional both financially and with horses: “I normally have enough horses at my disposal from my main sponsor Fyto Horse Care, but enforcement is always welcome. Patsy and Seth have a complete four-in-hand team for combined driving in the United States, for which I have schooled several horses myself. I selected two of these horses and they are now back in my stables in The Netherlands. I will start training them and I will try to take my team to an even higher level with these horses,“ says Timmerman.

The KWPN geldings Valentino (7 years old, Future x Ferro) and Ufo (8 years old, Lancelot x Burggraaf) will be added to Timmerman’s selection of horses. The horses have competition experience and are already qualified to compete at the WEG 2010, which makes it easier for Timmerman to concentrate on refining his team next outdoor season: “I now have 11 top horses to choose from. Things must go terribly wrong if I am not able to make it to the Top Three in The Netherlands. I am aiming for a starting place in Kentucky and I of course hope to take a medal home.”

Another advantage for Timmerman is that the Wootens can provide ‘their’ driver at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky Horse Park with harness and carriages: “Normally I will take my own equipment to Kentucky, but in case anything goes wrong I can always use the Wootens equipment and that is a comfortable feeling especially with the large distances to and in the USA.”
Timmerman met the Wootens 1,5 months ago: “I sold them several horses, amongst which Valentino and Ufo. I travelled to the USA several times to train the horses and to help the team at competitions. Patsy and Seth are very involved in the driving sport and they enjoy supporting me. For me it is wonderful that I get this opportunity!”, concludes Timmerman.

Theo Timmerman won many shows in 2009, amongst which the CAI Donaueschingen (Ger).

Amongst many other successes, Theo Timmerman was part of the Dutch four-in-hand team that won bronze at the WEG 2006 in Aachen. In 2009 he took the silver medal at the Dutch National Championships and he qualified for the prestigious FEI World Cup Driving 2009/2010.
