Mélykút 2018: successful second edition
Mélykút in Hungary was host to a CAI2* and CAN competition this weekend led by Hungarian pair driver Róbert Kiss and his family who put together a very successful international event for the second time. International Level 3 judge Jaap Boom (NED) was President of the Ground Jury, while Marie de Ronde-Oudemans (NED) and Barna Fejér (HUN) were the two members. The drivers had a great opportunity to qualify and practice for the upcoming FEI European- and World Championships later this year on the course of level 4 Course Designer Gábor Fintha.Just like earlier this year in Mezőhegyes and last year in Mélykút, Katalin Nyúl was the best in the single horse class again this weekend. David Hötsch (AUT) who competed in Hungary for the first time ever can look back to a great competition as he finished second and third with both of his beautiful KWPN horses.

Winner of Mezőhegyes Gergő Rákóczi (ROU) was very close to achieve his second win of the season with a nice win in dressage and a clear round on the cones course, but he just had too much time penalties and gave the first place to Norbert Kákonyi (HUN) who performed very strongly during the weekend. Marathon-winner Miroslav Mtuska (SVK) drove a very nice double clear in cones as well and finished third.

Lajos Móró (HUN) won the dressage, came second in the marathon and he was the winner of the cones, which meant he finished in the first place with more than twenty points ahead of Ferenc Gabács (HUN). Attila Bárdos (HUN) came third.
