Three new German pony champions
The competition in Schildau hosted the German Pony Driving Championships last weekend. Three new Champions were crowned; Herbert Rietzler won the Singles Championship, Christof Weihe won gold in the Pairs Championship and Michael Bügener took home the gold in the Four-in-Hand Championship.
Besides the battle for the national title, the pony drivers also battled it out for starting tickets for the upcoming World Championships in Breda at the start of September. "Especially the cones competition was difficult," says national trainer Peter Tischer. "This is what we can expect in Breda as well. The marathon with eight obstacles was also diffiicult."
The selection for Breda will be announced this Friday during a special meeting in Riesenbeck.
