Best drivers in the World to start in Kronenberg
From Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 April, all eyes will be on the grounds of Grandorse in Kronenberg for the first major competition of the season. At the same time the worlds biggest driving trade show Paard&Koets will be held at Equestrian Centre the Peelbergen. 110 competitiors representing 18 different countries will be making the trip to Limburg, the Netherlands for the first big three-star competition of the outdoor season. The best drivers in the world are represented across all divisions. The home favourites IJsbrand Chardon, Bram Chardon and Koos de Ronde will be duking it out with reigning world champion Boyd Exell and silver medalist in Tryon Chester Weber. For Weber this will be the first time for him driving in Kronenberg as he will be wanting to make all necessary preparations for the 2020 World Championships Four-in-hand that are being held in Kronenberg.
The pair horses will be represented by none other than Hungarian reigning world Champion Martin Hölle. This young driver along with his fellow pair drivers will be making preparations for the upcoming World Championships in Germany this fall.
After a successful World Championship for single horses in 2018 the single horses are once again well represented by silver medalist Saskia Siebers and a number of other top drivers from France and Sweden.
The international driving competition consists of three events; dressage, marathon and cones. On Thursday 18 and Friday 19 April the dressage will take place on the beautiful grass rings. On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April the marathon and cones competitions will be driven.
In addition to the spectacular sport, the public can also enjoy the trade show Paard&Koets with a large number of vendors, interesting shows and competition all geared towards carriage driving.
Admission to both the international competition and Paard &Koets is free.
