Exloo 2019: Sunny second dressage day
The remaining competitors drove their dressage tests today under beautiful sunny weather. The horse and pony teams as well as the horse pairs, single ponies and para equestrian competitors entered the two dressage arenas at the Equestrian Centre in Exloo.IJsbrand Chardon

Double World Champion Para Driving Francisca den Elzen set the best score of the day with Albrecht’s Hoeve’s Lars. She received a score of 36,66 and took the lead in her class, ahead of her compatriots Ingmar Veneman and Jacques Poppen.
Ijsbrand Chardon used two relatively new leader horses and was unanimously awarded with the first place by the Judges with a score of 41,01. Germany’s Sebastian Hess followed in second place, ahead of his compatriot Raphael Tobias.

Sandro Koalick won the dressage with his first pair. With the KWPN geldings Fasco (Vaandrager HBC) and Hertog Jan (Bakboord HBC) he achieved a score of 42,67. Antonie ter Harmsel finished in second place, ahead of Germany’s Lars Schwitte and Australian driver Tor van den Berge. Van den Berge is based at Exell Equestrian in Valkenswaard and is preparing to compete at the World Championships in Drebkau, driving the horses owned by Owen and Janet Pilling from Great Britain. The organiser of these World Championships Sandro Koalick drove his second pair to the fifth place, followed by his father Torsten Koalick.
Edith Chardon equalled her father’s performance and won the dressage in the pony teams class. Marijke Hammink is in second place with a little over two points difference, which will result in a nice battle in the marathon tomorrow. Danish driver Lars Dau took the third place with his Haflinger ponies, amongst which the 23-year-old Nico.
Tamara Pijl has taken the lead in the pony singles class, ahead of Marissa Schuiling. The Dutch drivers are closely followed by Maria Buchwald from Denmark who finished in third and fourth place with her two ponies.
The marathon starts at 9am on Saturday morning and the first competitor will enter the obstacles at around 10am.
