Ermelo: the show has begun!
All competitors have arrived in Ermelo! Since yesterday afternoon the terrain around the National Equestrian Centre has been filled to capacity with competitors of the two-star competition. The first dressage classes are currently underway. This morning started off with the vet check and only one horse received a red light: the six year old Fanus (Uphill) from Sven Stuyck (Belgium). Stuyck is still planning on competing with his other two horses Flambeau and Guggenheim who were both fit to compete. Dutch driver Ben Voets decided to pull out of the competition himself.
Spectators will be keeping an eye on Edith Chardon, who will be competing in the pair pony division with the ponies from the World Championship team of her brother Bram. Bram will be driving this afternoon with a team of horses.
The four-in-hand horses and ponies will be driving in the sand arena, with the second ring on grass. The pair and four-in-hand ponies and four-in-hand horses begin dressage this afternoon with the balance of classes starting tomorrow.
