FEI satisfied with newly set up venue of World Championships in Breda

FEI Technical Delegate Richard Nicoll (USA) made a visit this weekend to Landgoed de Prinsenhoeve in Breda, where the FEI World Driving Championships for Four-in-Hand is going to be held from 31st August to 4th September. Together with Course Designer Jeroen Houterman (NED) and Event Director John de Vos, Nicoll inspected the obstacles which are currently being built and the sections that are located in and around Landgoed De Prinsenhoeve.

The layout of the venue has changed significantly compared to the previous years. With shorter logistical routes and more warming up areas the focus is on the sport. Pieter Brokx who is in charge of sports facilities and Marie de Ronde-Oudemans, sports coordinator at Outdoor Brabant, explained all changes to Nicoll in more detail during his visit to the showgrounds, who was more than satisfied at the end of his visit: "I have never been to Breda before, but I am very positive about the developments and the showgrounds." Richard Nicoll is a well-known person in the driving sport. He has been Course Designer at many World Championships, such as the WEG in Kentucky in 2010. He was a member of the FEI Executive Board and was President of the FEI Technical Committee Driving for six years.

"We're very pleased with the enthusiastic response from Richard Nicoll," said John de Vos, Event Director of the FEI World Driving Championships for Four-in-Hand. "We completely redesigned the setup of the venue for this important World Championship, where we want to provide the competitors with the best of everything and the spectators with an ultimate experience. With the approval of the FEI Technical Delegate we can continue executing our plans and turn this Championship into an unforgettable event!"
