In addition to the participants there were also a number of ‘observers’ from Austria and Hungary. The Spanish judge Joaquin Medina Garcia took the eight judges through both theory and practical exercises in judging. Martin Röske from Germany was responsible for training the nine stewards and Johan Jacobs shared his extensive knowledge with the nine course designers.
The picturesque Hotel Altes Koster in Hainburg aan de Danube, a former monastery from the 17th century offered a unique location for the theory portion of the training. The practical exercises for the judges and course designers took place a the nearby Schoss Hof, home of professional driver Lukas Svoboda who drove a single and pair for the judges.
The next FEI courses will be held in Stow-on-the Wold, Great Britain on 22 and 23 February and in Poznan, Poland from 17 until 22 March.
