Hungarian citizenship for Pille-Riin Roosileht
Successful Estonian driver Pille-Riin Roosileht has recently received the Hungarian citizenship. The 28-year-old professional horse woman has been living and working in Hungary for ten years and is preparing to compete for Hungary from 2023 onwards.World Pairs 2023
“My plan is to compete for Estonia at the upcoming World Championship for Ponies in Le Pin au Haras this summer with my pony pair,” tells Pille-Riin. “At the moment I also train seven horses who are going into a pair. I will prepare them this year and next year and I hope I can compete for Hungary in the 2023 World Pair Championships.”
In the meantime, Pille-Riin is very much involved in the Hungarian driving sport as trainer for the Hungarian Driving Academy and the Hungarian Junior Team. She is the manager of Lehel stables in Kisbér-Ászár with 29 horses and also competes regularly in ridden dressage.

From holiday to fulltime carriage driver
Pille-Riin came to Hungary with Estonian single driver Pille Oberpal in 2011 for a summer holiday. She was a very good student and was planning to go back to school to study piano, but she was infected by the Carriage Driving virus by Vilmos Jámbor who took her under his wings. Vilmos saw how talented and hardworking Pille-Riin was and gave her the opportunity to compete. Her first competition ever was the FEI Youth Driving Championship in Szilvásvárad in 2013 where she finished 9th in the Young Driver class with the legendary pony Topper. Her driving career took off and Pille-Riin developed herself into a knowledgeable driver and trainer. She competed at the World Singles in 2014 and 2016 as well as the World Pony Championships in 2015 and 2019. In 2015 she also started in the Young Horse Championships in Mezöhegyes where she finished 7th with Donald.
