Lipica 2022: Donau Alp Cup 2022 goes to Switzerland!
The Donau Alp Cup 2022 in Lipica is won by Team Switzerland I. After a strong battle with the two Hungarian teams, the Swiss took home the gold medal. The individual gold medal in both the Combined competition and the Donau Alp Cup went to reigning World Champion Martin Hölle.Blessed with beautiful weather
The two-and three-star competition in Lipica was blessed with beautiful weather on the final day of competition. Gábor Fintha had laid out a nice course in the impressive main arena of the Lipica Stud Farm, in which only Stefan Ulrich and Bruno Meier managed to drive a double clear round.
Martin Hölle had a knock down on the last obstacle and some time penalties, but this did not endanger his leading position after the dressage and the marathon. Bruno Meier helped team Switzerland I to win the gold with his double clear round and moved up from the fourth to the second position in the individual standings. Stefan Ulrich finished on the podium thanks to his win in the cones.

The Winners
Austria’s Vinzenz Dobretsberger won the 3* Horse Single class, while Ann-Kathrin Drumm from Germany was very happy with her win in the 2* Single Horse Class.
The Pony Pair class was dominated by the three Austrian drivers with Karl Schiffer winning all three phases of the competition ahead of Gerfried Peternell and Franz Lechner.
Switzerland’s Karin Huser competed in a class of her own and won with her pony Jolie Babu and finishing second with Unity Little Jo.

Next big Driving event in 2023
The Team of Lipica Stud Farm were very pleased to welcome the 46 drivers from 11 nations at their grounds and are looking forward to the next big driving event in 2023. From February 15th to 19th 2023, Lipica will host an FEI Course for Driving Officials (Judges, Stewards, Course Designers and Technical Delegates). Lipica would also like to wish a warm welcome to non-FEI officials such as trainers, competitors and national officials, who are invited to join the Courses as Observers. The theoretical part will take place in the wonderful Maestoso Hotel on site, whilst the main arena in Lipica will be the place to be for the practical part. In case of bad weather conditions, Lipica offers the opportunity to use the comfortable indoor arena.
