CAI Exloo: Debutants score well in dressage
The competitors at CAI Exloo drove their dressage tests today and yesterday. Despite all the rain, the large sand arena looked perfect and the weather conditions during the day were not too bad. Yesterday, the competition started with the single drivers and today the pairs and teams did their dressage tests. The competition is known by many drivers as their very first FEI competition. One of them is current Dutch champion Klaas van der Sande (NED). With 40.43 penalty points, he didn’t only win the dressage in the two-star competition in the single ponies division, he also scored the best result of the day. There was a nice second place (48.79) for Desiree van Lambalgen (NED), who is also making her international debut. In between working for the show office, she found time to drive! Shirley Moors won the dressage of the single horse division (2*). She was the only one in her class to stay just under 50 penalty points.

Same circumstances
The marathon starts early tomorrow. At 8 am the first competitor will start in the marathon, which has a shortened A-section. There are three mobile obstacles and three new fixed obstacles, including the renovated water obstacle. The renovated ground of the fixed obstacles means that weather conditions cannot cause the ground to be ‘ploughed over’. The mobile obstacles are on the sandy ground that has already proven to hold up well. It promises to be a long and exciting marathon day
