Final touches to new FEI dressage tests

Last Saturday in Waregem (BEL), the final touches were made to the new FEI dressage tests for the pairs and Four-in-Hand (horses and ponies, two-star and three-star) and the tests for the Children and Juniors. The new tests will be effective from 1 January 2025.

Each class has a working group for the new dressage tests. In it, new tests have been developed and tested over the past months. These proposals were presented last Saturday, the tests were ridden and filmed from the various judges’ locations next to the ring. The day’s findings will be incorporated into the final test, which will be presented next month. These will then take effect from 1 January 2025.

As well as putting the finishing touches to the new FEI dressage tests, also a video has been recorded on how the noseband rule should be measured at FEI competitions. This will be clarified in the regulations that take effect from 1 January 2025.

Discussions

‘The FEI Driving Committee looks back on a very successful day. The venue was good, overnight accommodation for people and horses coming from further away was possible and there were very good discussions. I am happy to see that there were many discussions with the same goal: the best future for the sport. I think if we all keep that in mind, we can make decisions on the right grounds”, Jan Devaere, member of the FEI Driving Committee, told Hoefnet afterwards.
