Adjustments to FEI regulations 2025 announced
The FEI has recently published its regulations for 2025. The main adjustments are that the back protector is no longer allowed in the marathon and for drivers/grooms under 18, and there is an additional clarification on the permitted tyres of the carriage and the measurement of track width.Wearing a back protector will no longer be allowed from 1 January 2025. It is mandatory to wear a body protector that protects the front and back of the torso. This applies to all drivers and grooms during the marathon and to drivers and grooms under 18 years of age.
An additional appendix has also been added on how the track width of carriages should be measured from 1 January 2025. This can be found on page 102 of the regulations.
On page 103, you will find the annex clarifying what types of tyres are allowed on carriages. This only applies from 1 July 2025.
