Breda not hosting extra competition this year

The organizing committee behind the FEI four-in-hand World Championships in Breda August 31-September 4, 2016 has decided to expand their program with the national jumping and dressage divisions held annually at Outdoor Brabant.

Omdat het WK een bijzonder grootschalig evenement is dat veel sporters en fans van over de hele wereld naar Breda zal trekken, is ervoor gekozen om de andere internationale speerpunt sport, de eventing, dit jaar te laten vervallen. Ook de geplande internationale 2* en 3* samengestelde menwedstrijd voor tweespannen paarden en een nationale menwedstrijd voor ponyvierspannen van 7 t/m 11 september wordt geschrapt.

De nationale spring- en dressuurrubrieken, hippische shows en demonstraties vinden als side events van het WK Vierspannen plaats, alle wedstrijden worden dus verreden van 31 augustus tot en met 4 september. Het tweede weekend komt geheel te vervallen.

Due to the large scale of the World Championships which will pull in competitors and supporters from all over the world, it was decided to cancel the international eventing competition as well as the 2* and 3* combined driving competitions for pair horses and the national four-in-hand pony competition which were in the planning for September 7-11. 

The national jumping and dressage divisions, horse shows and demonstrations will remain as side events of the World Championships and will be held from August 31-September 4 eliminating the need for the second weekend.
