With a slightly different schedule than most international driving competitions, the 3* World-Cup Qualifier in Piber (AUT) the 'Austrian Open' starts today.

On the beautiful grounds of the Lipizzaner stud farm with the stately Baroque castle in Piber, where the foals are bred and spend their youth, the international driving competition for four-in-hands and a national driving competiton for horse pairs takes place in the coming days.

The participants, including the Australian Boyd Exell and Tor van den Berge, the Belgian Glenn Geerts, Sweden’s Fredrik Persson and other great names of the Horse Team class, arrived in the beautiful hilly area yesterday.

The program is slightly shorter than usual. This morning, Friday, starts with the horse inspection, after which the dressage for four-in-hands starts at 2 p.m. The marathon follows on Saturday and the final cones takes place on Sunday.
