Exloo: Dutch drivers victorious in marathon
The weather was at the organiser's side today during the marathon of the international two-star competition in Exloo. The over 130 competitors and many spectators were able to enjoy a lovely sunshine on the site of the Equestrian Centre Exloo. The Dutch drivers were victorious in six out of the seven classes. After the heavy rain fall last night the officials decided to take one of the six obstacles out before the start of the marathon to ensure the welfare of the horses and the safety of the competitors. The remaining obstacles did not cause any problems to the drivers, who enjoyed the landscape in Exloo.
Gilles Pirotte was the only one who prevented a Dutch victory in all classes. The World Champion marathon stayed ahead of Katja Helpertz and Marissa Schuiling.
