Implementation FEI measuring device postponed

Half October we announced that the FEI released a new tool in 2025 that will allow them to measure and check the tightness of nosebands more accurately. The tool has been approved after 600 tests at FEI show jumping, dressage, eventing, endurance and driving competitions. The tightness of nosebands of horses and ponies at FEI competitions will be assessed using the new measuring instrument.

The implementation of the measuring device at FEI events, initially planned for 1 January 2025, has been postponed to 1 May 2025, following approval at the FEI General Assembly in Abu Dhabi in November 2024. The postponement of the implementation was agreed upon to allow additional time to educate the FEI Officials as well as the FEI community, and to account for a slight delay in the delivery of the FEI Measuring Devices.

As soon as the FEI Measuring Device is available for distribution, the FEI will inform the FEI Officials and the wider community accordingly. FEI Stewards will be entitled to one device free of charge.
