Horst: Exell leading after dressage

Boyd Exell once again made his presence be known in the main ring in Horst. Driving an almost perfecty executed dressage test he earned 36,22 penalty points and has taken the lead in the class.

His entire team, but especially the leaders were impressive in their uniformity and frame. The reigning world champion drove all of the figures to a T, and in the transistions and the extended trot the entire team worked as one.

IJsbrand Chardon stands now in second place, but holds the lead in the competition for the Dutch national title. Chardon also drove an excellent test and his horses showed just a bit more suppleness than those of Exell. With 40,41 penalty points is he still within striking distance of his rival. Theo Timmerman holds third place with 45,36.

The four-in-hand horses will drive the cones course this afternoon in reverse order of standings beginning at 14:00.
