Equine Influenza Vaccination Module in the FEI HorseApp
As of January 1 2025, the policy of influenza vaccinations of horses and ponies participating in FEI competitions has been changed. As of February 3 2025, vaccinations of all horses and ponies must be registered in the FEI HorseApp.This new regulation applies only to the influenza vaccination and only to horses and ponies participating in international competitions. Thus, it does not apply to starts at national competitions.
The vaccination must be entered in the HorseApp on the day the horse receives the vaccination. Veterinarians can take an e-learning of about ten minutes explaining how to fill it out in the HorseApp.
By using the HorseApp, the veterinarians who check the vaccinations when the horses arrive at the competition grounds can immediately see if this has been done properly. In addition, the horses’ owners and stakeholders will receive notifications via the HorseApp if vaccinations are in danger of expiring.
