Kronenberg 2021: Long break from competition hardly noticeable
The drivers have been busy during lockdown as it was hardly noticeable that a long break from competition was behind them. Marijke Hammink, Heidi te Poele and Ingmar Veneman all won the cones today after being unbeatable in the dressage yesterday. For the single drivers this was one of the first international competitions where they got the chance to drive the new dressage test, and today in the cones the results were equally good. Saskia Siebers (NL) won the dressage with a score of 33,73 penalty points and with a double clear round in cones kept that score intact heading into the marathon. Close on her heels, Marion Vignaud (FRA) as well as Rudolf Pestman (NL) and Anne Violaine Brisou (FRA) all drove double clear in and Anne Unzeitig (GER) with just 0,34 time penalties left the top five in the 3* completely unchanged.
Marathon
Marijke Hammink (NL) created even more of a gap in the 3* pony division after winning the marathon. After scoring 39,68 points in the dressage, she now holds a nine point lead over countryman Jan de Boer (NL) who is currently in second.
The competition in the 3* horse division will be exciting tomorrow. Boyd Exell held onto his massive lead, but the battle for second, third and fourth will be determined by the cones. After driving a blazing marathon Koos de Ronde has moved up to third place, just 0,92 points behind second place Bram Chardon. IJsbrand Chardon is just behind in fourth place.
Tomorrow the 3* P4, 3*H2, 3*H4 en 2*H4 drive cones. The remaining divisions will drive marathon.
