Riesenbeck: Boyd Exell lives up to expectations
At the opening of the International German Driving Derby, the four-in hand dressage, Australia’s Boyd Exell stayed ahead of his opponents from 15 different countries. The double world champion proofed his role as favourite from the start, and convincingly left Michael Brauchle, Theo Timmerman and the other drivers from Germany, Christoph Sandmann, Mareike Harm, the only woman in the field, Georg von Stein and Rene Poensgen behind him.The dressage was the first of four phases of the Driving Derby. The second phase is driven on Friday at 19.30 hrs. in a Top Score competition. The Derby will furthermore be decided in the marathon on Saturday and in the final obstacle driving competition on Sunday.
