Donaueschingen: CAI and German Championships have started
Twenty-five horse teams and 18 pony teams have travelled to Donaueschingen to compete in the international competition and the German four-in-hand Championships. USA's Laurie Astegiano unfortunately had to cancel after her husband got badly injured in an accident with a young horse shortly before they wanted to leave.
Italian drivers Matavelli and Mascheroni had to cancel their participation in the horse fours class. The latter because of a shoulder injury.
The horse inspection was relatively unspectacular. Three horses and two ponies went to the holding area and only one horse from Georg Knell (GER) received the sign 'not fit to compete.'
