Valkenswaard: it has begun!
The sun was shining as the first competitor of Driving Valkenswaard International entered the dressage ring at 10:45 this morning. Twenty five pair drivers came before the international judges panel with Michael Sellier (FRA) winning the class followed by Jozsef Dibak (ITA) and Arndt Lörcher (GER).With his stunning KWPN horses Cane K (v. Plain's Liberator) and Zaron (v. Zaffraan) Sellier has taken the lead in the standings. Dibak, the bronze medal winner from the 2015 World Championships follows four penalty points behind.
Despite a number of rain showers, the dressage ring is in excellent shape and is ready for the four-in-hand drivers who will begin with their dressage tests at 11:00am tomorrow morning.
Tonight all of the competitors and officials are invited for a visit to the Van den Heuvel brothers carriage museum in Valkenswaard.
