Fábiánsebestyén: Gebroeders Lázár en Kecskeméti pakken de winst
Fábiánsebestyén, Hungary hosted another successful international driving event this weekend, where Vilmos and Zoltán Lázár proved to be the best of the horse pair and horse team classes again. László Kecskeméti took the first place in the single horse category.
Fifty-one drivers in six categories completed the event in Fábiánsebestyén, where the organisers did their best to make it a beautiful event for both drivers and spectators.
Just like in the previous years, the Lázár brothers were in top form during the weekend. Vilmos and Zoltán won the dressage of the horse pairs and horse teams on Friday, as well as the marathon on Saturday. Vilmos took the second place in the cones phase and easily won the combined competition, with more than 20 points advantage to Zsolt Szilágyi on the second place.
It did not come that easy for Zoltán, as one of his leader horses slipped on the grass during the cones, which cost him precious seconds and a ball as well. Luckily the horse stood up and he could continue. He had two knock downs in total and some time penalties, but he still managed to hold on to his first position and win the competition ahead of József Dobrovitz Jr, who was competing with his new team for the first time. His father József Dobrovitz came third.
