TA Bateman brengt bezoek aan Beesd
At the beautiful setting of Heerlijkheid Marienwaerdt, the home of Baron van Verschuer and the site of the 2016 Para Championships, there was a meeting, on Friday 8th July, between the Organisers of the Event and the Technical Delegate on the progress of the Para Equestrian Driving World Championships.Rene Schuiling and Jaap Boom discussed all salient points with Technical Delegate Philip Bateman. Later the assistant Course Designer, Bennie Steenblik and the “Hammer Man” Ari van Zanten with Ad van Roon came and went through the six Obstacles, that the Competitors will drive, one of which is a water Obstacle. The Course, which will be the same for the large National Classes, has a Transfer Section with a good Section A.
Around 25 Para-Equestrian Competitors, from 7 Nations are expected to participate in, this World Championships. The Officials will be arriving from all over Europe and starting with the Horse Inspection on Thursday morning, followed by Driven Dressage; Marathon follows on Friday and finishes with Obstacle Cones Driving on Saturday. Bettina De Rham from the FEI will perform the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
